Animal Crossing Is Getting an Official LEGO Set

Nintendo and LEGO have announced an official collaboration to create Animal Crossing-themed pieces. Animal Crossing is a video game simulation that allows users to engage with a variety of colorful animal avatars while engaging in peaceful activities such as fishing and bug collection.
This recent statement from Nintendo introduces another popular title to its collection of collaboration with LEGO since beginning in 2020. Their collaboration resulted in one of the most popular LEGO kits – the interactive LEGO Super Mario set, which quickly became a best-seller on Amazon. Other collaborations between Nintendo and LEGO include the NES set, Super Mario Mighty Bowser, and the impending Super Mario Piranha Plant.
Earlier today, Nintendo teased the Animal Crossing collaboration with LEGO in an eleven-second teaser on its Twitter page. Fans got an early look at the minifigs of numerous classic characters, including the ever-helpful Isabelle and everyone’s favorite landlord, Tom Nook, in the “Welcome to…connections game” video. A blue balloon, yellow and pink flowers, and countless fruit trees were also seen in the teaser.
Since August this year, there have been reputable leakers suggesting that Animal Crossing will be the next brand to obtain LEGO sets.Furthermore, the leaks indicate that numerous sets will be available, with prices ranging from $14.99 for a 170-piece set to $74.99 for a more costly 535-piece set. The leaker is expected to be released in March 2024. For the time being, though, these are only rumors, since the video provided no definite data beyond the announcement.
Animal Crossing is one of Nintendo’s most successful brands, with the brand gaining even more traction after serving as a source of solace for many during the COVID-19 epidemic. With most nations still enforcing social distance restrictions, the game enabled individuals to communicate virtually. It was so popular that after rescheduling their wedding due to the epidemic, one couple held their wedding in Animal Crossing.
Fans have already began to speculate on what the sets may be, with the Dodo Airport and Nook’s Cranny being popular favorites. A Nook’s Cranny idea was previously submitted to LEGO Ideas but was not chosen. Even three years after the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, fans are still yearning for more of the brand. The announcement of the Animal Crossing LEGO cooperation is a great strategy to keep fans entertained till the inevitable sequel.
